Subject: Rear wheel spoke tension

I don't build my own wheels, but I do true them when they get out of whack. Yesterday I trued my rear wheel (built with Shimano Ultegra hub/ Mavic Open pro rim/36 spoke/3 cross both sides) and it came out good as far as truing and dish. What I did notice was that the drive side spokes seemed to have more tension than the non-drive side. I could feel it with the spoke wrench. Is this normal? Again, the dish looks right. Chris

Again, the dish looks > right. > > Chris > yes, normal. it's a function of the spoke angles as they meet the rim - the greater the angle differential, the more the tension differential.
