Subject: Ruined a BBT-5

I was tightening a Campy locking on a new cassette using a Park BBT-5 tool, and a 1" box end wrench. The BBT-5 slipped out and the teeth got a bit trashed, and it will not go back on. I tried some filing, but still no go. Is there a better way to hold the BBT-5 onto the lockring to prevent this from happening again? Or a better tool? Thanks.

The shimano version of this tool is only for cassettes, not also bottom brackets, so the middle only has a small hole, and they advise using a skewer to hold the tool on. I would guess you could improvise with a metal disc with a hole in it for the skewer to clamp the tool to the lockring. Ben
