I am trying to switch to clippless pedals but I don't want to buy a
new set of pedals. What do I need to attach to the pedal so that the
cleat can clip in. I have Dimension mountain pedals.

i have had pretty good experience with the cheaper nashbar branded
pedals. $20, sometimes you can get it w/free shipping too. they also
have pedals that only have the SPD mechanism on one side, which might
appeal to the OP.

if the pedals don't have a cleat receptor, they're just pedals and your
cleats are useless. just buy new pedals. $45 is a great deal.
