Any harm in doing so?

Around here there seems to be an abundance of women wearing sleeveless
tops with arm warmers. Odd indeed.

They will hold in heat that should be dissipated to the atmosphere to
prevent rider overheating?

On the other hand, if it's just warm and not hot, there may be an
acceptable tradeoff. I doubt you can hurt your leg muscles by wearing
warm clothes, so long as your body core temperature stays reasonable.

I know my legs seems to function better when warm (or very warm), so
I'll wear tights when many of my companions are in shorts. I have to
pay more attention to hydration/electrolytes than they do as a
consequence, 'cause then I sweat a lot. Just so long as overall
performance doesn't suffer due to overheating/dehydration/electrolyte
loss, wear what you like, and see how it works out.
