What superlative would they have to use to describe just about any other material that would actually be even stiffer? It's not that it's aluminum that makes it stiff, it's the structure that aluminum allows you to build (larger diameters without a severe weight penalty). Slap on entry level wheels and components and charge a premium for the "technology". What's not to like?
