Admittedly, it's hockey helmets with heavier shells and face masks, not our dainty bicycle helmets, and the youngsters use gloves instead of the baseball bats usually urged, but it seems like a step in the right direction in RBT's thirst for data: http://wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_141174014.html Cheers, Carl Fogel

These youngsters are just imitating what they have seen. Jobst Brandt

This "sport" has little or nothing to do with the head injuries that do (very rarely) occur to cyclists; and further, the "right steps" have already been taken, in that population-level studies show no health benefit, and a possible health cost, to the use of cycle helmets. I trust, Carl, that you are once again tongue-in-cheek here, but just in case the disadvantaged part of r.b.t.'s readership that ignores data and calls for MHL's thinks you are serious, the above needed to be pointed out.
